Person specification
• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
• Eligibility for full GMC registration at time of appointment (PLAB 1 and 2 and IELTS or higher qualification)
• Evidence of a minimum of 4 years full time postgraduate training, of which 2 will be in a paediatric training programme (or its equivalent gained either part time or through Less Than Full Time Training – LTFT)
• Minimum of 6 months experience of the provision of neonatal care in a level 2 or above centre.
• MRCPCH or DCH qualifications are desirable
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Demonstrable good spoken and written English – IELTS with overall score of 7
• Meets professional health requirements
• Relevant specialty clinical knowledge, judgement, practical skills and proven ability to work effectively in different clinical settings required in the job
• Commitment to clinical governance/improving quality of patient care
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to undertake training/mentoring of medical staff in more junior grades and enthusiasm for education is desirable
• Commitment to on-going professional development
